Today’s Thought: I’ve Got the Power…

ACTS 1:8

In 1990 the German musical group Snap! released a memorable song called “I’ve Got the Power.” Years later many of us are still looking for power. God gives us His power through the Holy Spirit to walk in victory. We don’t have to beg God for His power that gives us the ability to overcome sin, doubt, and fear in our lives. Find out how the P-O-W-E-R is available to all believers.

P – Pray with a direct connection to God (1 John 5:14-15).
The power from God gives us unlimited access to heaven for the rest of our lives. We can call on God at any time for any reason and He will hear to answer in His will.

O – Overcome sin, Satan, and the world (Romans 12:21; 1 John 2:14, 5:5).
The power from God allows us freedom from the bondage of sin that can entangle our freedom in Christ. Satan and the world can’t touch us without first going through the loving fingers of God.

W – Wisdom to discern the truths of God from lies (Proverbs 14:8).
The power from God helps us to know what we should do in times of decision. We can trust in the Lord to lead us in the right direction.

E – Equipped to live out our lives with purpose and destiny (Psalm 57:2).
The power from God renews a sense of destiny that drives us forward towards His purposes. We are compelled to finish the race of faith in victory.

R – Rest in the midst of chaos (Hebrews 4:8-11).
The power from God gives us peace when everything else appears to be falling apart. We stand on the solid Rock of Jesus Christ through the shifting sand of cultural changes and persecution for our faith.

Dear Lord, I know Your power is available to me to do Your perfect will. I pray for a fresh anointing to continue in the faith. Amen.
